There are two generations of models for the Curtis 1243 MultiMode controller—the Curtis 1243 and Curtis 1243 Gen 2. Both models are motor speed controllers for separately excited (SepEx) motors providing smooth regenerative control. It is not required to add components such as contactors and relays due to the half-bridge armature power stage with a full-bridge field control stage that is capable of providing full regenerative braking and solid-state motor reversing. The controller operates silently and with high efficiency. The second generation is an improved version since it offers more features compared to the original model.
