We will revise the final shipping cost to a $45 Flat Fee for shipping of the Motor & $35 for the controller shipping back to you. Total $80. If you are not sending the controller in for upgrade your shipping cost will be reduced to $45.

Gem Car 36-72V 7.5 hp Splined Shaft Sep-Ex. High speed and Power upgrade. You must have your controller reprogrammed to take advantage of any performance increase from this new controller.

7.5 HP for a 30 minute Duty Cycle. This motor will improve the speed of your vehicle, with the same torque as the stock motor. Heavy duty motor with improved thermal characteristics (Less Likely to Burn Up!). This motor is best suited for indoor and clean street environments.

Gem Car Performance 101: The 5hp stock motor in a Gem Car is fine for 23-25mph in average driving conditions. It was NOT designed to be used with radical controller programming or under extreme conditions. It operates within a limited temperature range and ANY attempts to achieve consistent 35mph performance through gearing or excessive programming WILL result in heat related motor failure.

The D&D Upgrade 7.5 motor is the only high performance motor available for Gem Cars and has been designed specifically for GEM Car owners that require additional speed, acceleration, and power while enhancing operating reliability. The motor is ventilated and can withstand operating temperatures of over 350°, while a stock motor will cook at 185°. In addition it has a rated rpm of 4,950 and will hold up to 6,000 rpm while the stock motor is only capable of 4,100 rpm.

Easy To Install, Direct-Bolt-on: As a direct bolt-on for all Gem Cars, this motor can replace a stock 3.5 or 5hp motor in less than 15 minutes.

Designed Specifically For Top-End Performance: The stock Gem 5hp motor has a H insulation only rates out at 5 hp for a 30 minute load, this motor generates 7.5 hp for 60 minutes, so it will handle 50% more load for twice the amount of time.
